Crash Leaves One Dead another in Critical Condition After Crash in Northeast Valley
On Monday night, police discovered that 28-year-old Ahmad Yakub was the victim of a two-car collision in northeast Valley of Las Vegas that resulted in critical injuries.
According to the first reports, the fatal vehicle accident occurred at approximately 10:11 p.m. near Lamb Boulevard and Alto Avenue, with a 2003 Ford Escape traveling north on Lamb and a Kenworth TT semi-truck and trailer going south on Lamb as they prepared for a left turn onto Alto.
At some point, the semi-truck drove into the path of Ford, causing a collision. The officials declared that a 25-year-old man sitting in the Ford’s right front passenger seat was killed at the scene. After notifying family members, the Clark County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim.
The semi-truck’s driver escaped injury in the collision. Ahmad Yakub, the Ford’s 28-year-old driver, was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition and booked on suspicion of driving under the influence after the accident involving a truck and car. No further information is available at this time.
An investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
